Greene Prairie Woodworks is a small family owned business, specializing in quality handcrafted Amish furniture. Most of our items are built in the Holmes County, Ohio area, with a little in northern Indiana. A few lines of bedroom furniture are built in my brothers shop. Greene Prairie Woodworks started in 1995 as a sideline to farming. Originally it was a partnership between a few family members with a wood shop alone, building wholesale furniture. As time went on we added a finish shop to finish our own furniture. In 2002 we built a show room and started selling retail. In 2007, we dissolved the partnership, dividing the retail and finish shop from the wood shop. With this arrangement we can give better customer service to you as I can concentrate on the retail side and my brother will concentrate on the building and designing furntiture. I am still actively involved with agriculture with my father and brother, raising corn and soybeans. We are of the Mennonite faith and believe in doing all to the honor and glory of God. Therefore we do no business on Sunday.

Currently we are using a catalyzed varnish that is a high quality coating to protect your furniture for years of service on into the next generation. Most of our furniture is solid oak, cherry, or quartersawn white oak. We also have walnut, hard maple, and hickory available. We can do regular staining, painting, glazing, and distress looks if a customer needs it.

We are located in west central Illinois, on the family farm amongst the corn fields, far from the bustle of the city, bringing a peace and quietness that we really enjoy. My wife and I invite you to come see for yourself the fine line of furniture and the joy of the country drive!
